In Memory of Cody 1995 - 2010
Jan., 2010 - For those of you who had met my golden retriever, Cody, we unfortunately lost him in Jan to cancer. He was 15 yrs. old but it’s never easy losing a member of your family. Cody will always be remembered as the runner, the investigator and the food stealer. …… Every time I look at his paintings such as “Everything Gold Is New Again” or “Watch and Learn” it brings a smile to my face as I recollect those special moments we shared.
Visit to The Kentucky Horse Park
April 2010 - In April I had another opportunity to go back to Kentucky to photograph and sketch some great subjects at the Kentucky Horse Park during the Dressage championships and the 3 day National Eventing Competition sponsored by Rolex . While there, I was invited to a thoroughbred breeding farm and a Training Centre where I was thoroughly in “ah” of such spectacular animals. Here is a quick preview of the subjects I will be painting in the near future!
Marcus - Our Adopted Golden Retriever
July- I exhibited my work this year at The Canadian Golden Retriever National held in Stratford Ontario. During the show we had the opportunity to adopt an 8 yr. old Canadian Champion, named Marcus. For all you owners of British Golden Retrievers you will be happy to now that he is “cream” in colour. We have had lots of fun helping him to adjust from a show dog to a spoiled pet, exposing him to new things, such as swimming, boating and “squirrels”. Watching him has already “stirred the pot” for some interesting paintings next year.
Photos From 2010 US GRCA National
Aug-Sept. — These two months are always busy, especially getting ready for the 2010 U.S. Golden Retriever National held in Greely, Colorado. I so enjoy this event as I am surrounded by great people and great dogs. The show was such a success in all aspects, with my three new golden retriever paintings being well received. During the show, the Golden Retriever Club of America released their 2010 Limited Edition Christmas Ornament that I designed for them. The ornament embraces my new painting, “Pick of the Patch”. Both the painting, and the ornament where a huge success during this year’s National.
To order the Christmas Ornament with my name and limited edition #/500 engraved on the back, go to http://www.goldenretrieverfoundation.org Price $30. or 4 for $100.
